Special thanks to ACOWSAY FILM COMPANY for its generous donation to fund a major portion of 2024 Classroom Grants

2024 Classroom Grant Recipient

Classroom Grants allow educators to acquire and distribute resources related to video production, television, and/or broadcast journalism. Since 2017, the Upper Midwest Emmy® Foundation has provided 7 grants totaling nearly $13,000 to local schools for media equipment in their classrooms.

Humbolt High School’s video studio has two empty multipurpose rooms. The $1,200 grant will fund some video and audio recording equipment so those rooms can be used for music & vocal recording. Because of the room’s privacy they provide, students will feel less shy working in small groups projects.

The $1,200 grant will fund some video and audio recording equipment for BLCK Press Center for Broadcast Journalism's reporters. By equipping its reporters with professional equipment the organization can give its student journalists a competitive edge that will help them produce high quality stories and also build on their production skills.

The $1,200 grant will fund some lighting equipment for video production at Augsburg University. The new lights will improve production quality, align with industry conversion to LED, and demonstrate the school’s commitment to green production practices.
