Student Production Awards are NOT Regional Emmy® Awards.
PLEASE DO NOT REFER TO THESE HONORS AS STUDENT EMMYS. Students are not considered peer professionals and as such, their regional student productions are NOT eligible to be promoted as a Regional Emmy® award.
Students and schools may not use the Emmy® name or replica of the Emmy® figure in any form of school publications, commercial advertising and promotion.
Students may refer to receiving a Student Production Nomination or Award from the Upper Midwest Emmy® Foundation... or being an Upper Midwest Emmy® Student Production Award Nominee or recipient.
The presentation of these awards is intended to be an incentive for the continued pursuit of excellence by those studying media and journalism and to focus public attention on outstanding cultural, educational, technological, entertainment, news and informational achievements by undergraduate college and/or high school students.
Crystal Pillar Awards are presented to recipient schools for promotional purposes. Students listed on official entry are eligible to purchase awards.
High School National Awards Eligibility
Regional high school recipients from Upper Midwest and all participating Regional Emmy® Chapters will automatically advance to a national competition.
Recipients of the National awards will be announced in the fall of 2026.
Anyone listed on official Student Production Award nominee or recipient entries from 2011 onward may purchase awards. Nomination Certificates and Crystal Pillar Awards will be engraved with the entrant’s name and role on the entry.
