Don Shelby Journalism Scholarship

Don Shelby is a former anchor and Reporter at WCCO-TV in Minneapolis. He joined the station as a news anchor in 1978 and is also an experienced investigative journalist, whose work has earned two George Foster Peabody awards and several Emmy Awards. He retired from WCCO-AM after his final radio show December 11, 2009, and from television after his final WCCO-TV newscast on November 22, 2010.

Scholarship applicants are asked to write an essay: Five years from now when you are beginning your journalism career what do you expect will be the biggest challenges facing your industry? How will you meet those challenges?
