The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences is pleased to announce the availability of a $10,000 Jim McKay Memorial Scholarship for an outstanding high school senior who intends to pursue a baccalaureate degree in communication with emphasis on any aspect of the television industry.
The McKay Scholarship, now in its second year, honors the legendary sportscaster and journalist Jim McKay. This year’s scholarship will be awarded to a college-bound applicant who demonstrates exceptional talent as a creator of video programming as well as outstanding academic achievement and potential for success in a highly competitive profession.
Please note that College Board scores (ACT or SAT) are required. Additional eligibility requirements and an application form can be obtained at the scholarship web site www.emmyonline.tv/scholarship. Five copies of the completed application should be mailed (not faxed or e-mailed) to the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, 1697 Broadway, Suite #1001, New York, NY 10019. Applications must be postmarked by January 31. 2011.
