Gordon is a Midwest native through and through. His broadcasting career started when KARE-11 News & The Upper Midwest Emmy® Foundation awarded him a college scholarship in high school. Three years later he was an intern at the station, later joining the team full-time as their Legislative Assistant.

His on-air career then took him to KSAX in Alexandria, Lakeland News in Bemidji, KAAL in Rochester and WKOW in Madison Wisconsin. His career came full circle in 2016, when he rejoined the KARE-11 news team as an on-air Multi-Skilled Reporter. Gordon’s work can be seen on KARE-11’s 5,6 and 10pm newscasts, as well as the alternative news show Breaking the News. He is also a frequent contributor to the station’s VERIFY and Take KARE of Your Money segments.

In 2019, Gordon was honored with a Midwest Regional Emmy® Award for Outstanding Video Journalist. His work has also been recognized by the Chicago Emmy® chapter, the National Press Photographers Association, Society of Professional Journalists, Northwest Broadcast News Association, Wisconsin Broadcasters Association and the Associated Press.

Gordon received his master’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and his bachelor’s degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Film Studies from St. Cloud State University.
