Adeboye Olaniyan – Wartburg College (IA)

Adeboye is a Student Broadcast Engineer for Knight Vision, Wartburg’s livestreaming channel. He assists college Broadcast Engineer with set up for over 200+ livestreaming events on campus. Hands on training with student workers on camera set-up and control. Directing from control room on Tricaster. Troubleshoot audio, video and networking issues that may come up on day of events.

Adeboye has been working with media professors since his first day on campus and brings so much more beyond audio and video knowledge. He developed and deployed two mobile applications for Knight Vision. He is the online manager for the campus newspaper and radio station websites helping students post content with wordpress. He also designed both websites and recently included a full-page online magazine layout for the newspaper site. Adeboye is a lifelong learner who is always trying new techniques and online training for different audio/video equipment and software. His wide range of knowledge and problem solving skills make me feel comfortable enough to let him be the lead Engineer when I am unavailable. Many professors ask him to provide additional instruction to their class lectures, something I have never seen faculty on campus do before.

Adeboye works well with all levels of students from first-year workers with very little experience, to our veteran staff members. All of his peers look to him first when approached with any technical questions on campus, many time before they even ask college faculty or staff. He has worked hard over the last 3+ years to help bring all co-curricular programs together and bridge any gaps among our students both within our department and across campus. While you can see on his resume that he is involved with many career related experiences on and off campus, he is also heavily involved with many student led organizations at the college.
