Media Experience:
During the 2016-2017 academic school year, I worked as the sole videographer for the University of Minnesota student newspaper, the Minnesota Daily. As videographer, I was responsible for pitching ideas that would be exciting to our readers, interviewing my subjects, filming, capturing sound, editing and sharing the finished product through the Daily’s content management site. During my time at the Daily, I produced over two dozen videos that addressed a wide array of topics, from the burgeoning Minneapolis street art scene to the tumultuous political climate after President Trump’s inauguration.

Over the past year, I have worked as a production intern for Time for Ilhan, a documentary about Minnesota State House Representative Ilhan Omar. As production intern, I conducted research on Ilhan’s political journey, created graphics using InDesign and edited footage in Premiere Pro. I also operated a camera during sit-down interviews with Ilhan and her staff, as well as at public events such as the Women’s March and Muslim Day at the Capitol.

Additionally, since last January, I have worked as a freelance production assistant for Women in Blue, a documentary series about women in the Minneapolis police force that is currently in production; a documentary about chronic alcoholism and the presence of wet-houses in Minneapolis, which is currently in the early stages of production; and finally, as a production assistant and second camera for Lady Parts Justice in the New World Order, a documentary about women’s rights activist and comedian Lizz Winstead, which is currently in the final stages of production.
