The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences – Upper Midwest Foundation 2020 Student Production Awards is right around the corner. This competition recognizes excellence in media production for high School & college/university students within the NATAS – Upper Midwest region. (Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa & western Wisconsin.)

This year, we received almost 200 entries from 35 high schools and colleges/universities from across our region!

Join us on Friday April 3rd, 2020 at the Crowne Plaza AiRE MSP Airport/Mall of America for the 2020 NATAS – Upper Midwest Student Television Awards!

RSVPs/Tickets for the awards ceremony will be available for purchase on March 6th. RSVPs for high school are $30 per-person including nominees, College is $40 per-person including nominees.

Ceremony Hosts: 

Sara Rudlang and Gordon Severson are both previous Upper Midwest Emmy® Foundation Scholarship recipients.  They represent our former students now fulling their career dreams in the business.

Schedule of events:  

  • Electronic check-in at the door.  Bring email copy of your RSVP as in case of questions.
  • 5:00pm-6:30pm: CAREER FAIR! Bring resumes and demo reels!!! Networking with local professionals & Step-n-Repeat photo walls
  • 6:30pm- Doors open to ceremony room with food stations. (NOT A BUFFET) please be courteous with your portions)
  • 7:15pm – 9:00pm Awards ceremony.
  • Dress is semi formal/business. Women usually wear dresses, guys wear shirts & ties.  Jackets not required.

FOOD STATION MENU:

  • Vegan/Vegetarian/Gluten Fee Option: Berry Bliss Spinach Salad, Watermelon & Balsamic Grilled Vegetables
  • Lenten Option: Fish Sliders, Herbed Mayo

EDUCATOR RETIREMENT & IN MEMORIAM RECOGNITION

The Upper Midwest Emmy® Foundation would like to recognize teachers, professors and media educators who are retiring or who may have passed away this 2019-2020 school year.  Please fill out our online Retirement/In Memoriam form by March 13th.

While in town for the Student Production Awards, take advantage of attending the 2020 Midwest Journalism Conference.

Sessions are Friday & Saturday April 3rd & 4th at the Crowne Plaza AiRE Hotel in Bloomington.
