Kathleen Serie

Kathleen Serie – University of South Dakota (Vermillion, SD)

Kathleen is a Media & Journalism major at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, SD. She is currently a producer for USD’s student-run weekly television newscast, Coyote News. Kathleen has held many other positions including production assistant, live correspondent, assignment editor, anchor, and reporter.

Kathleen has also been Co-News Director for USD’s weekly radio newscast. Kathleen has held professional internships with South Dakota Public Radio in Vermillion, SD, and KELO TV in Sioux Falls, SD. Her plans for the future include gaining more journalism experience before receiving her degree, and moving on to work as a reporter at a broadcast station.

“This scholarship is not only providing me with a means to further my education at the University of South Dakota, but the drive to continue pursuing a career in broadcast journalism. I have a serious passion for this field, and I am so fortunate to receive such outstanding support from the NATAS Upper Midwest Chapter.”
