2012 Emmy® Workshops

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences– Upper Midwest Chapter provides FREE  “Emmy® on the Road” workshops for people who want to share, learn and grow in the visual media industry. ALL media professionals as well as college and/or high school students are invited to our story-telling workshops. These workshops are FREE, but please RSVP using our links below.

Watch award-winning stories and learn how to enter & judge Emmys.

You will see award-winning stories from our recent Gala and discuss the creative process and execution of a story from concept to completion. You’ll learn best practices for story construction, personalization and shooting/editing techniques that will spark your own creativity to take your stories to a new level. You will also get specific instructions on how easy the process is to put your work into consideration for an Emmy Award this coming year. We provide time in each workshop where audience members can show a story of their most recent work.  This unique critiquing session allows for everyone to share their feedback on the stories and learn from each other in casual and friendly environment.

Rochester/Austin/Mason City Market, we’re coming your way!  Join us at on Saturday March 3rd, 2012, from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m  The workshop will be held at KSMQ-TV. 2000 Eighth Avenue, NW Austin, Minnesota 55912.  The event will be held in room A106 of the West Building of Riverland Community College.

APRIL

More more bang for your buck while you are in the Cedar Rapids area for the Iowa Broadcast News Association Conference in April.  We we hold a special workshop the day after IBNA.  Join us at on Sunday April 29th, 2012, from 11 a.m. to 2:00 p.m  The workshop will be held at KGAN-TV, 600 Old Marion Rd. NE Cedar Rapids, IA 52402.
